Get the Friel Deal from the Moat Club
This Summer the Moat Club will be giving the people of Naas The Friel Deal.
A season of work by, arguably Irelands best living playwright, Brian Friel;
kicking off this month with Translations.
“Earlier this year we surveyed our audiences” says Club Chairman Pat Breslin, “and
their response was overwhelming – a huge percentage of the people we spoke to
wanted to see work by Brian Friel – well we’re delighted to be able to bring
them what they want.”
This month the Moat Club will be presenting Translations, directed by John
Lennon and in June Philadelphia, Here I Come! directed by Anne Mekitarian and
in May, Anne will be re-directing No Hay to Save in Brooklyn, a critically
acclaimed piece drawing from several Friel plays, which has toured both around
Ireland and internationally, including to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The Friel Deal allows audiences the opportunity to engage fully with this aspect
of our programme – for €30 (€24 concession) audiences will be able to attend
all three Friel events – and celebrate the work of this great Irish writer.
